The legal situation
In Malta, the directive was transposed by the Consumer Rights (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 (Government Gazette No. 21,638, 5 May 2026).
Across the EU, Directive (EU) 2023/2673 requires an electronic withdrawal function for consumer contracts concluded online (applicable from 19 June 2026).
